Story:
During the Five Dynasties period, shortly after Emperor Taizu Guo Wei of Later Zhou ascended the throne, Liu Min, the Jiedushi (military commissioner) of Hedong from Later Han, led his army to attack Jinzhou.
Emperor Taizu Zhou dispatched the ever-victorious general Wang Jun to relieve the siege. Upon reaching Shanzhou, Wang Jun's army halted to rest. The Emperor then sent Zhai Shousu to urge him forward.
Wang Jun explained that he deliberately avoided a direct clash with Liu Min's formidable and irresistible army to prevent heavy losses.
Perceiving the unfavorable situation, Liu Min eventually withdrew his troops.
