During their journey to the West, Tang Sanzang failed to recognize the demon Red Boy in disguise. Despite Sun Wukong's repeated warnings, Tang Sanzang insisted on saving the seemingly helpless child. Red Boy seized the opportunity, used his magic to pin down Sun Wukong, then conjured a whirlwind of dust and stones, abducting Tang Sanzang without a trace.
After Sun Wukong finally freed himself from the heavy burden, the wind had stopped. He found the White Dragon Horse neighing fearfully, the luggage strewn on the road, Zhu Bajie groaning beneath a cliff, and Sha Wujing calling out from a slope.
Sun Wukong quickly approached them and asked, "Where is Master?" Bajie replied, "The wind was so strong, we each covered our faces and bowed our heads; Master must have also knelt on his horse." Sun Wukong then declared, "Brothers, let's go our separate ways from now on!"
Bajie eagerly agreed, "Precisely! Let's split up soon! That journey to the West is endless; when will we ever reach it!" Sha Wujing was shocked. "Brother, what are you saying? We were born with sins in our previous lives, and were enlightened by Bodhisattva Guanyin to convert to Buddhism, protect Tang Sanzang on his journey to the West, and atone for our wrongdoings. We've endured countless hardships to get this far; to give up halfway today would surely betray the Bodhisattva's good intentions, ruin our own virtues, and invite ridicule!"
Sun Wukong conceded, "What you say is true, brother. My fiery eyes could see through the disguise, but Master wouldn't listen to me. That's why I felt disheartened and discouraged, suggesting we go our separate ways. Bajie, what do you say?" Bajie quickly responded, "I spoke carelessly just now; indeed, we shouldn't split up."
Sun Wukong was pleased. "Brothers, let's unite our hearts again, gather the luggage and horses, and go up the mountain to find that demon and rescue Master!"
