During the Jin Dynasty, Xie An was having a gathering with his nephews and asked them what they considered the most brilliant lines from the "The Book of Odes" (Mao Shi).
Xie Xuan quoted, "When I went forth in former days, The willows were drooping with sorrow; Now I come back on my return, The snow falls and fills the air."
However, Xie An praised the lines, "Great plans and settled decrees, Far-reaching counsels were announced early." He commented that these lines truly encapsulated the profound sentiment and refined taste of an elegant person.
