Story:
According to Buddhist scriptures, Siddhartha Gautama, who later became Sakyamuni Buddha, was born as the prince of Kapilavastu in ancient northern India. At the age of 29, deeply troubled by the universal sufferings of birth, aging, illness, and death, he renounced his royal life to pursue spiritual enlightenment. After six years of ascetic practice, he achieved Buddhahood and founded Buddhism.
Legend has it that immediately after his birth from his mother's right side, he took seven steps, with his left hand pointing to the sky and his right hand pointing to the earth, proclaiming, 'In the heavens above and on the earth below, I alone am the Honored One (唯我独尊).'
