During the Spring and Autumn period, Duke Zhuang of Wei spoiled his son, Prince Zhou Yu, excessively. This led Zhou Yu to become stubborn, dissolute, and to act recklessly, doing whatever he pleased and behaving tyrannically.
Grandee Shi Que advised Duke Zhuang not to raise Zhou Yu to be arrogant, overbearing, extravagant, and corrupt.
After Duke Zhuang's death, Zhou Yu murdered his elder brother, Duke Huan of Wei, and ascended to the throne himself.
However, due to his brutal nature, he was eventually tricked and killed by Shi Que.
