Story:
In 260 BC, General Bai Qi of Qin decisively defeated 400,000 Zhao troops led by Zhao Kuo at Changping. King Qin seized this opportunity to pressure King Zhao, demanding that Zhao cede six cities to Qin as a condition for peace.
King Zhao immediately summoned General Lou Chang and High Minister Yu Qing to discuss countermeasures, saying, "After the defeat at Changping, I intend to lead all our forces in a decisive battle to the death with the Qin army. What are your thoughts?"
"This approach is ineffective; it would be better to send a trusted envoy to negotiate for peace," said Lou Chang.
Yu Qing disagreed with Lou Chang's proposal and asked King Zhao, "Your Majesty, does Qin truly intend to annihilate our Zhao army this time, or will they simply fight for a while and then withdraw?"
