To wash or rinse, especially clothes or fabrics.

She sat by the stream, gently washing her clothes.
In the Tang Dynasty, 'huan' referred to a ten-day period when officials would rest and bathe. Months were divided into 'upper huan', 'middle huan', and 'lower huan', which later became alternative terms for the first, second, and last ten days of a month respectively.
此信函提到，项目竣工日期定于本月中浣。
This letter states that the project completion date is set for the middle ten days of this month.
