About this tool
Prepare a listening and vocabulary game from the Hanzi Now Flashcards library. Search for lesson words, combine HSK and Topic filters, and edit the Chinese, pinyin and English before printing.
Give students different cards, call a word and let them mark its matching square. A complete row, column or diagonal wins. Use the teacher sheet to keep track of called words and check a student's Bingo.
What it does
Choose vocabulary by category
Browse topic cards or choose an HSK level, then select up to 36 words from the Flashcards library. Combine both filters, review Selected words and apply the selection when you are ready.
Different cards for the whole class
Create 1–60 cards in a 3 × 3, 4 × 4 or 5 × 5 grid. Words do not repeat within a card, and each card has a different arrangement.
Student cards and a teacher call sheet
Download the student PDF and teacher PDF from the same set. The teacher sheet contains the Chinese, pinyin and English of the words actually used, with boxes to tick after calling.
Print pages you can check first
Preview A4 or US Letter pages with smaller labels and more space between pictures and text. Each page has a quiet hanzi.now footer and page numbers. Print one card per page or two on a landscape page.

Frequently asked questions
How many words do I need?
A 3 × 3 card needs 9 different words, or 8 with the center square already marked. A 4 × 4 card needs 16. A 5 × 5 card needs 25, or 24 with the center square already marked. Choose more words to vary the word groups across cards.
Can I change the Chinese, pinyin and English?
Yes. Choose the pencil icon beside a word in the vocabulary list. Edit the Chinese and English or select a character's reading, then save. Changes update the student and teacher pages together and keep the card positions. The public Flashcard stays as it is.
Do all students get the same words?
When your word count matches the number of available squares, students get the same words in different positions. With a larger word pool, cards use different groups and the generator balances word appearances across the set.
What is included in the teacher PDF?
It lists only words used in the student cards, with Chinese, pinyin, English and a check box. Print another copy and cut the entries into slips for drawing words.
Will my draft still be here after a refresh?
The current vocabulary, text edits and settings are saved in this browser. Returning to the page restores them and checks the published Flashcards again. Use the same browser and keep its site data to return to the draft.
Why can't I use a pre-marked center on a 4 × 4 card?
An even grid has no single center square. You can include a pre-marked center square on the 3 × 3 and 5 × 5 grids.
Can two students win at the same time?
Yes. Different layouts do not guarantee a single winner. Check each claimed line against the called words on your teacher sheet.
