Story:
During the Spring and Autumn period, Yan Ying, who served as Prime Minister for three reigns in the State of Qi, held a high position but was extremely modest. In contrast, his chariot driver felt very proud and self-important because he drove the Prime Minister's carriage.
When the driver's wife saw this, she advised her husband that he should learn from Yan Ying's humility.
From then on, the driver became very modest. Yan Ying, recognizing his willingness to correct his mistakes, recommended him to Duke Jing of Qi, and the driver was subsequently appointed as a high official (Daifu).
