Story:

During the Tang Dynasty, Yang Yan was appointed Prime Minister by Emperor Dezong because his family was renowned for filial piety.

However, once in office, he took personal grievances very seriously, causing dissatisfaction among many officials at court.

Prime Minister Lu Qi seized an opportunity for revenge. He bought Yang Yan's private residence to convert it into a government office.

Lu Qi then impeached Yang Yan, accusing him of "forcing officials to sell his private residence, overpricing it, and simultaneously embezzling public funds under his charge."

Emperor Dezong ordered Yang Yan's execution.
