老羞成怒 is a Chinese idiom (chengyu) meaning “to fly into a rage out of extreme shame or humiliation”. To become furious when deeply embarrassed. Literally, “Deep shame turns into rage”.
He Qi, the father of Shisanmei He Yufeng, served as a deputy commander under Ji Xiantang. Ji Xiantang wanted to marry He Yufeng to his second son, Ji Duowen, as a second wife.
He Qi was unwilling to accept this marriage proposal and told the matchmaker, "A tiger's daughter cannot be matched with a dog's son."
Upon hearing this, Ji Xiantang was shamed into anger. He immediately dismissed He Qi from his post, had him arrested and thrown into prison, and shortly after, had him executed.
