After Emperor Shun succeeded Emperor Yao as the leader of the ancient tribes, he did many good deeds for his people. He selected excellent talents from his tribes to help him govern the land.
As the people lived prosperous lives, Shun wished to invite someone proficient in music to uplift people's moral cultivation. He eventually found a person named Kui to promote music throughout the land. Shun marveled, exclaiming that having just one Kui was entirely sufficient for this important task.
