Fu Bi, a native of Henan during the Song Dynasty, whose courtesy name was Yanguo, was posthumously honored with the title Wenzhong, and thus later generations referred to him as Lord Fu Wenzhong. According to "Buli Ketan," a collection compiled by Chen Changfang of the Song Dynasty, young Fu Bi was diligent in his studies and possessed great magnanimity.

When someone hurled insults at him, he would behave as if he hadn't heard a thing. Others would point out, "Someone is cursing you!" He would remain unconcerned, saying, "Perhaps they are not cursing me?" When they insisted, "That person is cursing you by name!" he would still be indifferent, replying, "How could that be? There are countless people with the same name in the world!"
