During the Jin Dynasty, Liu Yu possessed an extraordinary demeanor. He walked with the majestic gait of a dragon and the powerful stride of a tiger, exuding a formidable and valiant aura, and he had a unique perspective on issues.
When Huan Xuan usurped the Jin throne, Liu Yu raised an army to suppress him, successfully re-enthroned Emperor An, and was subsequently enfeoffed as the Duke of Song.
He went on to pacify several self-proclaimed kingdoms, including Southern Yan, Later Yan, and Qin.
In 420 AD, he abolished the Jin Dynasty and established the Song Dynasty, becoming its founding emperor, Emperor Wu of Song.
