During the Warring States period, the State of Zhao was besieged by Qin soldiers. Lord Pingyuan of Zhao sent for help from the State of Wei. King Wei dispatched General Jin Bi to lead an army to rescue Zhao, but under pressure from Qin, Jin Bi dared not move.
Prince Xinling of Wei stole the military tally, killed Jin Bi, and personally led the army to save Zhao. Later, he fell victim to a counter-intelligence plot by the King of Qin and was consequently dismissed by King Wei. Feeling dejected, he then indulged himself in rich wine and beautiful women.
