赐墙及肩 is a Chinese idiom (chengyu) meaning “to be limited in knowledge or shallow in learning”. Like a low wall that can be easily seen over.
During the Spring and Autumn period, Shusun Wushu, a high-ranking official, boasted in court that Zigong was more virtuous than Confucius. Zifu Jingbo reported this to Zigong.
Upon hearing this, Zigong laughed heartily and said, "A person's talent can be likened to the height of a palace wall. My wall only reaches my shoulder, but Confucius's wall is a thousand feet high, and one cannot even find the entrance. We are all inferior to him."
