During the Spring and Autumn period, Prince Liao became the King of Wu. His elder son, Guang, harbored resentment. He arranged a banquet where Zhuan Zhu, disguised as a chef, assassinated King Liao.
Guang then became King Helü of Wu. He appointed Wu Zixu as his prime minister and Sun Wu (Sun Tzu) as his general.
King Helü paid close attention to his every action, lived a very frugal life, and treated the people as his own children. A few years later, the State of Wu became a powerful kingdom.
