黄公酒垆 is a Chinese idiom (chengyu) meaning “to feel sorrow and nostalgia upon seeing a place that reminds one of a departed friend or past times; to mourn and reminisce about old friends or bygone days”. Literally, “Huang Gong's wine tavern”.
During the Western Jin Dynasty, Wang Rong, one of the "Seven Sages of the Bamboo Grove" and then a Minister of Personnel, was dressed in splendid clothes and rode past the famous Huang Gong's wine tavern. This was a place where he, Ji Kang, and Ruan Ji used to frequently drink together.
He couldn't help but feel a deep sense of emotion and sorrow in his heart. He then said to the guest behind him, "Ji Kang died young, Ruan Ji has passed away, and I am entangled in worldly affairs. We can no longer drink together."
