Story:

During the Song Dynasty, Sima Guang, a renowned Confucian scholar, historian, and statesman, was appointed Duke Wen. He was celebrated for his deep concern for public affairs, his integrity, and incorruptibility.

People lauded him as a "万家生佛" (Wàn Jiā Shēng Fó), meaning a "living Buddha to ten thousand households." A poem from that era praising him reads: "Songs of a lucky star accompany his journey, incense burns for the living Buddha of countless homes."
