Story:
In an ancient temple in Luoyang, there was a chime stone (qing) in a monk's chamber that frequently resonated by itself. This unusual phenomenon troubled the monk so much that he fell ill.
A friend, upon hearing of his predicament, took a file and altered several spots on the chime stone. After this, the chime stone no longer resonated on its own.
It was then understood that the chime stone's frequency subtly matched that of the temple bell, causing it to vibrate and sound whenever the bell was struck.
