Story:
During the Eastern Jin Dynasty, Xie Shang, the Governor of Yuzhou, was stationed at Niuzhu.
One autumn moonlit night, he led a group of his subordinates, dressed in plain clothes, on a boat trip along the Yangtze River.
From another boat on the river, sounds of poetry recitation drifted over, so he stopped his boat to listen. It happened that Yuan Hong was reciting poetry in that boat. His voice was clear and melodious, and his verses were elegant and outstanding.
Xie Shang then approached and boarded the boat to meet him, and the two became good friends.
