During the Song Dynasty, Zhu Guangting was a disciple of the Neo-Confucian master Cheng Hao. He listened to Cheng Hao's lectures in Ruzhou, becoming utterly absorbed and captivated, as if in a trance. He only returned home after more than a month.
Upon returning, he would praise his teacher's exquisite lectures to everyone he met, saying, "I, Guangting, sat in the spring breeze for a month."
