During the Spring and Autumn period, there was an old man from Liqiu (黎丘丈人) who lived north of Daliang, the capital of the State of Wei.
One day, he went out, got drunk, and on his way home, encountered a strange ghost that had transformed into his son's likeness. The ghost beat and kicked him.
Upon returning home, he saw his real son safe and sound, realizing it was the strange ghost at play.
The next day, intending to kill the ghost, he mistakenly killed his own son who had come to greet him.
