春风风人 is a Chinese idiom (chengyu) meaning “to influence and educate people gently and kindly, like a spring breeze; to provide timely guidance and help”. Literally, “Spring breeze blowing upon people”.
During the Spring and Autumn Period, Meng Jianzi, the prime minister of Liang, fled to Qi due to his crimes. Guan Zhong, the prime minister of Qi, personally went out to welcome him.
Seeing that Meng Jianzi only had three attendants, he inquired about the situation.
Guan Zhong then reflected on his own situation, having carried out reforms in Qi and offended many people. He realized he could not be like the spring breeze that caresses everyone, nor the summer rain that nourishes everyone, and thus concluded that his own future would surely be difficult.
