文君新寡 is a Chinese idiom (chengyu) meaning “a newly widowed woman”. Specifically referring to a woman who has recently lost her husband, often implying youth or beauty, derived from the historical figure Zhuo Wenjun. Literally, “Wenjun newly widowed”.
During the Western Han Dynasty, Sima Xiangru, a master of fu poetry, returned to his hometown in Chengdu after the death of King Xiao of Liang.
His friend, Wang Ji, the magistrate of Linqiong County, invited him to be a guest at the home of the wealthy magnate, Zhuo Wangsun. Sima Xiangru became enamored with Zhuo Wangsun's widowed daughter, Zhuo Wenjun.
They secretly pledged their love and eloped to Sima Xiangru's humble home, which was devoid of possessions. The couple then opened a wine shop and began their simple and arduous life together.
