Story:

During the Southern and Northern Dynasties period, Lu Kai and Fan Ye were close friends, often exchanging letters.

One early spring, Lu Kai encountered a post messenger heading to Chang'an. He plucked a blossoming plum branch and entrusted it to the messenger to deliver to Fan Ye, who was far away in Chang'an. He also composed a poem: 'I broke off a flower when I met the post messenger, to send it to my friend in Longtou. Jiangnan has nothing to offer, so I'll send a branch of spring.'
