During the Western Han Dynasty, Emperor Wu of Han simultaneously favored Lady Yin and Lady Xing, showering them with attention. To prevent them from competing and causing strife, the Emperor issued an edict forbidding them from meeting each other.
Later, Lady Yin requested Emperor Wu to allow her to see Lady Xing. After much consideration, Emperor Wu agreed to her request.
