Story:
During the Eastern Han Dynasty, Chen Fan served as the Prefect of Yuzhang. He generally disliked having visitors stay overnight, with the sole exception of the renowned scholar Xu Zhi.
In his official residence, a special bed was set up exclusively for Xu Zhi. When Xu Zhi arrived, the bed would be lowered for his use, and after he departed, it would be hoisted up again, demonstrating the profound depth of their friendship.
