刘郎前度 is a Chinese idiom (chengyu) meaning “a person who returns after a long absence, often revisiting a familiar place or situation; a familiar figure reappearing”. Literally, “Liu Lang's former visit; Liu Lang's previous crossing”.
According to legend, during the Yongping era of the Eastern Han Dynasty, Liu Chen and Ruan Zhao went into the mountains to cut firewood.
In Taoyuan Cave on Mount Tiantai, they saw several immortals playing chess. They watched intently for a whole day.
After the immortals finished their game and left, the two men also descended the mountain. Upon returning to their hometown, they found that it was already the Jin Dynasty.
Later, they revisited Mount Tiantai.
