In the late Northern Song Dynasty, the Jurchen people established the Jin Dynasty and launched a major offensive against the Northern Song, eventually destroying it. Emperor Gaozong of Song, younger brother of Emperor Qinzong, established the Southern Song Dynasty.
However, the Southern Song court was weak and incompetent, retreating step by step. Yue Fei commanded the Yue Family Army, bravely resisting the Jin forces. The Jin soldiers were terrified at the mere mention of his name.
Yue Fei, pressing his advantage, told his generals, "I must go directly to Huanglong and drink heartily with you all there."
