十浆五馈 is a Chinese idiom (chengyu) meaning “to be showered with enthusiastic hospitality”. To be eagerly entertained by many people. Literally, “Ten drink vendors, five offer (their goods)”.
During the Warring States period, Zi Liezi (列子) journeyed to the State of Qi. Midway through, he turned back and encountered Bohun Maoren (伯昏瞀人).
Bohun Maoren asked why he had returned so quickly. Zi Liezi replied that he was startled.
When asked why he was startled, Zi Liezi explained that upon arriving at a certain place, five out of ten taverns eagerly vied to entertain him, making him feel overwhelmed, so he had no choice but to turn back.
