唾手可取 is a Chinese idiom (chengyu) meaning “Extremely easy to obtain”. Readily available; within easy reach. Literally, “Attainable by merely spitting into one's hand”.
During the reign of Emperor Taizong of the Tang Dynasty, an internal conflict broke out in Goguryeo, a tributary state.
A minister named Ji Li killed the king appointed by Emperor Taizong and usurped the throne.
Emperor Taizong intended to personally lead an expedition against Goguryeo.
However, General Chu Suiliang argued that such a minor affair did not warrant the emperor's personal involvement. He suggested sending one or two capable generals with a hundred thousand troops, and then, he asserted, the small state of Goguryeo would be "easily obtainable".
