To be indecisive or accomplish nothing due to too many conflicting opinions, like building a house by the roadside where everyone offers advice; too many cooks spoil the broth.

如果我们对这个项目的方向“筑舍道傍”,听取所有人的意见,恐怕永远也无法启动。
If we "build a house by the roadside" for the direction of this project, listening to everyone's opinion, I'm afraid we'll never be able to start.

Story:

During the Eastern Han Dynasty, Emperor Zhang intended to appoint Dr. Cao Bao to be in charge of revising rituals and music.

However, Ban Gu advocated gathering all Confucian scholars in the capital to collectively research and formulate the rituals and music.

Emperor Zhang believed that letting Confucian scholars do it would be like "building a house by the roadside, taking three years without completion." So, he insisted on Cao Bao completing the task alone.

After review, 150 chapters were adopted.
