During the Spring and Autumn period, Ji Zha, a prince of the State of Wu, was exceptionally skilled in music from a young age.
When he visited the State of Lu, the people of Lu specially held a musical performance for him. The Lu musicians played melodies from the Zhou dynasty and various vassal states.
After hearing the songs of the State of Qi, he remarked, "Magnificent! How grand and vast is this style!" However, after the performances of the states of Cao and Kui, he no longer expressed any further opinions.
