Story:
During the reign of Emperor Yao, the Yellow River frequently flooded. Emperor Yao dispatched Gun to control the floods, but after nine years, he achieved no success.
Emperor Shun then sent Gun's son, Yu, to undertake the task. Yu bid farewell to his newlywed wife just four days after their marriage and embarked on his mission to tame the floods.
For thirteen years, he dedicated himself to the work, even passing by his own home three times without entering. He finally achieved great success in flood control.
Emperor Shun, recognizing Yu's diligent and frugal service to the people, eventually abdicated his throne to him.
