Story:
During the late Spring and Autumn period, King Fuchai of Wu, seeking revenge for his father, launched an expedition against the state of Yue, pushing all the way to Kuaiji. King Goujian of Yue had no choice but to send Minister Wen Zhong to sue for peace, which Fuchai agreed to.
However, Wu Zixu strongly opposed it, recalling how Shaokang, the posthumous son of Xia Hou Xiang, relied on 'a cheng and a lü' (a small territory and a small number of soldiers) provided by the Yu clan. From this humble beginning, he gradually grew stronger, eventually conquering states like Guo and restoring the hegemony of Yu.
