During the Song Dynasty, Su Shi, the prefect of Mizhou, was unjustly imprisoned for his poetry and later demoted to deputy commissioner of Huangzhou.
While in Huangzhou, he met two good friends. When his friends acquired a fresh perch, Su Shi asked his wife for wine. His wife, Wang Runzhi, had already prepared wine for him, anticipating such unexpected needs.
They then took a boat trip to Red Cliff and enjoyed themselves until they returned content.
