During the Yuan Dynasty, Shi Ji, a benevolent and generous man, provided Gui Fuwu with 300 taels of silver to redeem his wife and children, and also gave him ten mu of land.
Gui Fuwu secretly dug up 1500 taels of silver from the land and went to Shaoxing to live a prosperous life.
After Shi Ji's death, his family fortunes declined. His friend Zhi De advised Shi Huan's mother and son to seek out Gui Fuwu, who was now living in great abundance. However, he ignored the descendants of his former benefactor.
