Story:
Towards the end of the Western Han Dynasty, Wang Yu, the son of Wang Mang, worried that his father had made too many enemies. He tried to remonstrate with his father vehemently but was killed by Wang Mang, who claimed to be acting righteously.
Feng Meng, seeing through Wang Mang's intentions, realized that such a ruler was not worthy of loyalty. He then took off his official's hat, hung it outside the East Gate of the capital, and quietly left the city with his family, escaping to Liaodong.
Not long after, Wang Mang committed suicide, and the Xin Dynasty he founded collapsed.
