Xu Wufan, finding himself in a difficult predicament, sought advice from Zichan. Zichan suggested that Xu Wufan's sister should make her own choice. The sister chose Gongsun Chu.

When they married, Gongsun Hei, feeling indignant, burst into Gongsun Chu's home fully armed. Gongsun Chu met him with a halberd and forcefully drove him out of the house.
