Story:
During the Warring States period, the state of Qin launched a major attack and defeated the Zhao army. Qin then demanded that Zhao cede six cities in exchange for peace.
King Zhao sought advice from Lou Huan, a native of Zhao who had previously served as Qin's prime minister. Lou Huan suggested that ceding the land for peace was the best option.
However, the strategist Yu Qing argued that the Qin army was exhausted and not in a position to continue attacking, thus Zhao should not give up any territory.
Lou Huan believed that by giving these six "pellet-sized lands" (tiny territories), they could secure peace for the coming year.
