束蕴请火 is a Chinese idiom (chengyu) meaning “to seek help from others”. To help others resolve difficulties. Literally, “To bundle kindling to ask for fire”.
Once upon a time, an old woman falsely accused her daughter-in-law of stealing meat from their home. The daughter-in-law, unable to defend herself, was driven out by the old woman.
Distressed, she sought help from a kind neighbor, an aunt, to clear her name. The aunt, knowing the daughter-in-law's good character, devised a clever plan.
She took a bundle of tangled hemp to the old woman's house, ostensibly to borrow fire. During their conversation, the aunt subtly remarked that her own dog had recently died after fighting with another dog over some stolen meat.
Hearing this, the old woman immediately understood the hidden implication, realized her mistake, and went to bring her daughter-in-law back home.
