Story:

During the Tang Dynasty, a young man from Jiangdong named Xiang Si, whose courtesy name was Ziqian, participated in the imperial examinations but initially had no reputation.

Someone took his examination papers to Yang Jingzhi. Yang particularly appreciated his talent and composed a poem which read: "Many times I've seen your poems, and they are always excellent; but observing your character, it surpasses even your poetry. I have never known how to conceal another's good qualities, so wherever I meet people, I speak of Xiang Si."

Not long after, he was admitted by the authorities in Chang'an.
