Story:
Siddhartha Gautama, son of King Suddhodana from the ancient Indian kingdom of Kapilavastu, was deeply moved by the suffering inherent in human life, such as birth, aging, illness, and death. At 29, he renounced his royal life to seek spiritual enlightenment. After six years of arduous practice, he finally attained awakening and founded Buddhism.
According to Buddhist scriptures, upon his birth from his mother's right side, he was able to walk immediately. He then pointed his left hand towards the sky and his right hand towards the earth, declaring loudly: 'Above the heavens and below the heavens, only I am supreme.'
