Story:
In ancient times, when great floods covered the land and people were displaced, Yu was commanded to lead his people.
He organized hunting expeditions to provide meat for the populace and then guided them in dredging canals and rivers to direct the vast waters into the sea. He also taught them how to sow crops and established a system for people to exchange goods according to their needs, eventually bringing peace to the land.
Yu once told Emperor Shun, “予思日孜孜。” (I apply myself diligently every day.)
