Towards the end of the Shang Dynasty, due to the construction of Lutai (Deer Terrace), Jiang Ziya was forced to flee by jumping into water.
Yang Ren went to the imperial court to admonish King Zhou. King Zhou was furious and ordered his eyes to be gouged out.
Yang Ren's deep resentment moved Daode Jun (Lord of Morality) of Ziyang Cave. Daode Jun gave him a new pair of eyes that had hands.
From then on, the unique Yang Ren followed Jiang Ziya to assist King Wen of Zhou in overthrowing the Shang Dynasty.
