Story:
During the reign of Emperor Wu of Liang, Wei Shu, a grand counselor, was demoted to the post of court judge in the Sima Department.
One day, Emperor Wu's prized horse, 'Zhaodian Yu Shizi' (Jade Lion Reflecting the Palace), ran away. Wei Shu's subordinates followed the hoofprints in the snow to Zhang Guolao's melon patch.
Wei Shu then took his entire family to express their gratitude to Zhang Guolao. Zhang Guolao took a liking to Wei Shu's 18-year-old daughter, and Wei Shu, believing it to be heaven's will, married his daughter to the over 80-year-old Zhang Guolao.
