Story:
During the late Eastern Han Dynasty, Cao Cao, through clever strategy, defeated Lü Bu and seized control of Xuzhou.
Lü Bu retreated to Xiapi City, where he barricaded himself and refused to engage in battle. Cao Cao then resorted to flooding the city.
Desperate, Lü Bu vowed to abstain from alcohol and women, declaring that he would show no mercy to any subordinate caught drinking.
This severe decree, coupled with the dire circumstances, caused his generals, such as Hou Cheng, to fear punishment. They subsequently defected to Cao Cao, leading to the surrender of Lü Bu's entire army. Lü Bu was captured and promptly executed by Cao Cao.
