According to legend, during ancient times, a man from the State of Chu named Cifei acquired a precious sword from another land. Filled with joy, he embarked on a river journey to return home.
As their boat reached the middle of the river, two fearsome flood dragons suddenly emerged, stirring up violent winds and waves. The entire crew was paralyzed with terror.
Cifei asked the boatman what course of action they should take, but the boatman simply despaired, believing they were doomed to die. Cifei, however, declared that they must "seek life in death," meaning they had to fight for survival against the dragons to the very last breath.
With resolve, he leaped into the turbulent river and successfully slew the flood dragons.
