Origin and Story of 李广难封

During the Western Han Dynasty, Li Guang, a zhonglangjiang (a military title), served as the governor of Shanggu along the border. He was brave and skilled in battle, and the Xiongnu called him 'Flying General,' striking fear into their hearts.

Despite his prowess, he was never truly entrusted with important positions throughout his life and never received the reward of being enfeoffed as a marquis. He was eventually forced to commit suicide.

Many of his subordinates were granted marquisates for their military merits, and even his cousin, Li Cai, who was less capable than him, rose to the rank of prime minister.
